Enrollment Process

At New Horizons, we are committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for every child. Our admission process is designed to ensure that both parents and children feel comfortable and confident in their transition to our school community.

Step 1: Schedule a Personal Tour & Interview

The first step in the enrollment process is a personal interview and guided tour of our school with the Director. This visit allows families and kids to experience our learning environment firsthand, meet our dedicated teachers, and gain a better understanding of our curriculum and daily activities. We encourage parents to ask questions and share any specific needs or expectations they may have for their child’s education.

Step 2: Admission Considerations

We welcome all applicants and consider each child equally, without regard to race, religion, or ethnicity. Our goal is to create a diverse and inclusive community where every child can thrive. To ensure a smooth transition into our program, children should be toilet trained before starting school, with the understanding that occasional accidents are normal. Our compassionate staff is always available to provide guidance and assistance as needed during this process, helping children develop confidence and independence in their self-care routines.

In accordance with the Palos Verdes Unified School District and local private school guidelines, children must be 2 years old by September 1st of the given enrollment year to be eligible for our preschool program. This policy ensures that children are developmentally prepared to engage in our learning activities alongside their peers.

Step 3: Completing Enrollment

Once families decide to move forward with enrollment, they will be required to complete the necessary paperwork, including medical forms and emergency contact information. Additional details regarding tuition, class schedules, and school policies will be provided during the enrollment meeting.
